Why More Parents are Choosing
Resilience Charter School

You have a choice. You get to choose what your child’s middle school experience will look like.

Safe. Supported. Accepted.

At Resilience Charter School, your child will be in a supportive environment where they feel known, accepted, and loved for who they are. They don’t have to be afraid of what their peers may say or do. You get peace of mind that your child is safe (both physically and emotionally).

“I could not have asked for a better school for my daughter to go to. The staff are fantastic. The kids are allowed to express who they are without being afraid of ridicule. Resilience has a different approach to teaching and it really works. I would tell anyone to check this school out.

Susan, mom of a 6th grader

Engaged. Challenged.

We value the differences in each child and help them to explore their interests. Your child will receive guidance to apply their creativity to solve stimulating challenges with project based learning. Since our school is significantly smaller than most public middle schools, your child won’t feel lost in the crowd. They feel comfortable asking questions and engaging in the learning process.

"It's been a couple of years (at least) since I have seen my son excited about learning....Thanks to all the teachers and staff for bringing his *spark* back. I can't express enough gratitude!"

Mandy, mom of a 7th Grader

Resilient.

Supportive relationships cultivate deep resilience. We’ll get to know your child, guide them to cultivate healthy relationships with others through our Social Emotional Learning Program, and help them to develop creative problem-solving skills through Project Based Learning. Rather than being disciplined through punishment, children learn to work through problems and resolve conflict through a process of repairing harm with the support of community known as Restorative Justice.

“This school has been a literal life saver. My son is so happy here, raves about his teachers, and feels safe. I cannot say enough good things about Resilience.”

AJ, mom of a 7th grader

What is Project Based Learning (PBL) and How Can it Help My Child?

Project Based Learning is a dynamic approach to learning about different subjects simultaneously while your child actively explores and solves real-world problems. Rather than focusing on test scores, PBL shifts the focus to evaluating your child’s learning along the way with an emphasis on self-reflection and goal-setting.

Your Child Will Learn How to:

  • Understand a world comprised of an array of complex and interrelated systems
  • Delve more deeply into concepts
  • Collaborate with others
  • Give and receive peer feedback
  • Take full ownership and responsibility for their projects
  • Conduct their own research, take on stimulating challenges, and solve complex real-world problems

At Resilience Charter School, your middle school child will become a lifelong learner and develop the critical thinking and problem-solving skills needed to succeed in the world.

What is Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and How Can it Help My Child?

Social Emotional Learning is the process through which your child will learn how to:

  • Understand and manage emotions
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships
  • Feel and show empathy for others
  • Set and achieve positive goals
  • Make responsible decisions

Children with strong social-emotional skills exhibit:

  • Positive behavior

Discover How We Can Help Your Child

Let’s Talk!

New to Public Charter Schools?

We put together some basic information to help you get up to speed.

What is a Charter School?

A charter school is a public school of choice, which means parents choose to have their children attend. Like all public schools, they are tuition-free. It is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that has a contract or charter to provide educational services to students.

What is the Difference between Charter and Traditional Public Schools?

A public charter school is independently run and has greater flexibility than a traditional public school. Because of that, they have greater accountability for performance, ensuring your child receives the best education.

How do Charter Schools Work?

The school has a performance contract, a charter with state or local school boards, which details its mission, program, students served, performance goals, and methods of assessment. They are accountable to their sponsor, their students’ parents, and the general public for both fiscal practices and academic performance.

Which school is right for you?

At the end of the day, you just need to find the right school for you and your child based on your current needs. Do your research. Take a Tour. Get to know the people at the school. See what other parents are saying about the school.
